I guess that was a pretty good buy then. I think they run over $100 on Ebay (that is if you can actually find it on there.)

Gah.. $65 for it. I need Kia's luck in finding the Dragon Ball Daizenshuus that are out of print. As for translating it.. uhh.. >.> It all depends on whether or not there is furigana to the kanji and if it's big enough to READ the furigana. No furigana = no chance I'll be able to translate it right now. Not big enough = a total pain in the neck (and is what's preventing me from finishing the Bleach Book Adventure.. the stupid furigana is so small it's basically unreadable even though the rest of the page is fine).

I think translating it would take years. It's got over (I believe) 300 or 400 pages. Of course I could be wrong so Kia you can correct me if I'm wrong.

Good lord. lol
Well, it wouldn't take THAT long if you had a good grip on the language (which I don't). I mean, most manga scanlating groups do 19 pages of a series a week. You'd just have to be dedicated to it.

Yeah, it's a huge book with tons of information on it. Still I wish I knew Japanese so I wouldn't even need a translator.
I seriously suggest looking into the Xenosaga series Iyou. You might be better off getting the Jap. versions though. They cut out some stuff in the NTSC version for censorship reasons. Still it's a pretty good series (well except for that abomination I like to call Episode II.) Overall though it's pretty good.

Only the third game was severely edited.
The First and the Second games ... barely had edits. The third was worst off because it made no sense that they would edit BLOOD OUT when the first and second games had blood.
Edit for XS1-- Albedo cutting his head off with a knife. He just tears it off instead. What was the difference?!
Edit for XS2-- removed the gun because OMG KIDS SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO SHOOT THEIR HEADS OFF. Again, this concerns Albedo. (Albedo has issues.)
Edit for XS3, the worst edit ever-- Blood is removed. Kills several key scenes. However, there is a way to restore XS3, but this involves merging XS3 Japanese and American versions (XS3 Japanese for the blood restoration, American version for the English dialogue) and this requires a modded PS2 which is what I don't have.
Iyou's lucky 'cause he has a Japanese PS2. XP
...and Perfect Works is only 302 pages long. >.> It seriously doesn't look thick like Harry Potter book thick.

The problem is that, since I haven't played through it in English, I wouldn't fully understand what's going on. I might get a bit here and there, but overall I'd be totally lost. Even if you guys told me what the plot is, it wouldn't be the same as actually understanding it from the game.
Of course if I could find all three games for really cheap in English and get to play through them first, then play through the third one in Japanese, that'd be a different story......

Well I'm sure you can find both XS I and II for really cheap, but since XS III just came out last Fall, that one'll probably cost you around $30. Still I consider it worth it.
You make a good point too. There is so much going on in those games you might want to play it in English. After playing them all there is still a lot of things I don't quite comprehend, but I guess those will come when I playthrough the series again.

I've roughly figured out what's going on and the way XS3 was written, it looks like it would strongly set up Xenogears except for maybe three key things. @_@ (And at least has a chance to explain Jin/Citan connection *strangles self*) ...thought it was scary that they gave Jin the green outfit until I looked at his ES and went "Ohshit" when I realized that it was really dark green/gold and had the similar build as Omnigear Fefnir(sp) while his previous AGWS was similar to Hemidall. Sure, Takahashi may have meant that as a cameo, but I am not so sure anymore after XS3. XS3 had so much that it seems to be matching up to the details listed in Perfect Works according to at least 5 people I've spoken to. People are always saying that XS and XG aren't related, but what's happened in XS3 honestly makes this very difficult to truly figure this out. Yeah, at first it was obviously going to be an Alternative Universe version... but I've got my doubts now after I played Xenosaga 3. I'm currently in middle of replaying Xenogears on my psp. (...yes, I hacked my psp and my Xenogears iso (from my legit Xenogears game) so my psp could play Xenogears. @_@)

I don't know, Takahashi said it himself, it is a re-telling of the same story. So pretty much they aren't sequels/prequels to each other, but they could be if he so desired. As far as Jin and Shion carrying the last name Uzuki, you must remember that Citan's true name was Hyuga Ricdeau. So they're design and name (well name in a sense) are the only relation they share. That's awesome, I was just talking (or more like typing) about that exact thing in the other thread.
