2.0.8 has finally been released. Basically I went through and updated a few questions (such as the novels are being translated and released here by VIZ, and there's a new RK fighting game in the works for the PS2) and added a few misc questions that some people might find interesting (such as which networks around the world have aired RK). I never got around to rewriting the character histories and a few other things though.
Dunno when the next version will be worked on/released. Probably not for a long time.

Not an update to the FAQ, but some information that some people may find of interest. According to the latest issue of the American Shounen Jump the first Kenshin novel translated by VIZ will be released on October 3rd. Also, Banpresto has updated their Rurouni Kenshin PS2 fighting game page. More characters have been revealed. So far they've revealed: Kenshin, Sano, Saitou, Shishio, Yumi and Houji. I'd be willing to bet that Aoshi will appear, and Soujirou is shown in a preview clip so he's probably in it. You can visit the site for yourself by clicking here. A preview of the game can be found here (it's Kenshin using Kuzu Ryuu Sen against Soujirou, with more movies to be added in the future). Note that both site and movie are in Japanese. The game will be out in Japan on 9/14/2006. I'm not exactly sure who we, as Kenshin fans, need to write in order to get this game brought out over here but I hope it happens.

KENSHIN TECHNIQUE "LOST SPECIAL" EPISODE NOW ONLINE!That's right folks, I've finally decided to get a Youtube account and upload the Techniques "lost special" episode that was never released here. If I'm able to convert the first special, which is in .rm format, into an avi or wmv I will upload that one as well to the site. If anyone knows how to do that (or knows of a program that can do that), please leave a comment. However, until the day comes when I can get it into a normal format, I ask that everyone please enjoy the techniques special. Please note that I did not subtitle these myself, and the quality is what it is (remember, it came from a VHS tape). Those are two things I have no control of, so don't complain or email me about either of those. RK Special 2 - Part 1RK Special 2 - Part 2RK Special 2 - Part 3Also, some more tidbits of news: Play Asia will be selling the new Kenshin fighting game ("Enjou! Kyoto Rinne") for $64.90. You can find the listing for it by clicking here. Just keep in mind, that if you're going to import it, you'll either need a Japanese PS2 (which the site also sells for around $200) or a modified American PS2 in order to run it (the game is NTSC format). A huge boxset containing all 94 episodes and both theater versions of the OAVs is being released in about 51 days. It also comes with several art books and various extra gifts (such as a small model of a sakabatou). The price is 63,000 yen ($551.23) if you order it from Amazan Japan.

2.0.9 has been updated. It's a great time to be a Kenshin fan, with a new PS2 game coming out, the release of the first two volumes of the kanzenban, and a huge box set coming in December. I couldn't resist updating the FAQ with up-to-date information.

Hey! I posted in this topic, like... a year ago >_< Saw a link to the site in your signature on Daizenshuu EX! Anyway, I have some info for your FAQ, if you haven't been informed yet. VIZ has published Yahiko no Sakabatô in the September issue of Shonen Jump, so anyone who hasn't read it should catch it there (since, as far as I know, there's no other way to get it other than owning the issue of Weekly Shonen Jump from back in 2000). Keep up the good work!
Edit- Oh yes, one more thing. I've found a mistake in your technique guide. Ryuusôsen isn't Double Dragon Strike (or Flash, ect). That would be Sôryuusen (which you have correctly listed as Paired Dragon Flash). The "Sô" Kanji used in Ryuusôsen means "nest," or "lair," as in a dragon's nest.

Hi!! I'm a huge fan of RK and I had a question that trouble my mind for a long time: ¿which was the illness that killed Kenshin and Kaoru?, after a long searching I got to your page and read your guess of what could be; but to be honest the answer didn't quite satisfy me so I did a more profund search, and since I would like to see what you think about it, here it goes: I went to wikipedia to search the war that was happening in the last OVA and find out it's called "The Fist Sino-Japanese War" which occured between June 1, 1894 to Oct. 8, 1895. Now during that time and because of the war there were several infectious diseases including sexual transmition diseases, who in fact killed a lot of people, but not as many has the Yersinia pestis or more commonly as the plague. Actually, during the war, a huge epidemic began in Hong Kong which mortality was 95%.There are three kinds, the one with the bubons (bubonic), the second one wich develops in the lungs causing the patient to cough blood(neumonic), and the third one which "poisons" the blood and causes massive stains(septicemic). Now, the way it is contracted may vary but in war conditions, the most common ways were by stings of fleas transported by rats, other patients or been in contact with dead bodies who had the plague. Usually the incubation period goes from two to five days and the ill one stays alive as much as the body can. Also, this illness usually begins in the lower extremities like the arms. The symptoms began with quick rise of minor temperature, insomnia, prostration, erratic language, mental confusion, abdominal pain, vomit and other symptoms There is also another fact that, during that war, in Japan (exactly in Hiroshima) the goverment created quarantine places to received the soldiers who came back to the country to check them out. So my guess is that Kenshin contracted the plague by helping the wounded in war, more exactly the third kind, because it can also be contracted through direct contact with the hands or mucous membranes like the throat (which can also explain why Kaoru got it and nobody else). Of course, this is only my guess and I would really like to see what you think and also feel free to correct me if theres something wrong. For the moment thats all!! Thanks and bye!

I know this is a really late reply, but didn't Kenshin have the disease before he left to help in the war? He was showing off the disease before agreeing to even go. And he and Kaoru alone seemed to have gotten it, so it wasn't like a plague had broken out in Tokyo at the time before he left.
It is possible that he contracted it somewhere else (Kenji did say that his father was absent quite a bit of time) and brought it back with him. So I won't rule it out. It's an alternate idea and, when I get the program back installed, I'll add it to the FAQ as a possbility.
