Woah, whoops. I made a very small update to the FAQ back in June that I forgot to come write about. What's new in this small update? Well, it turns out there was one more Animetal song based on Kenshin, so I added that. maddoggnick96 in the post above pointed out that there was another place to buy the original PSX Kenshin games, though he warns the site seems a little "shady" to him, so I added that link and warning as well. It's a very minor update as I couldn't find anything else to really add. But, in any case, here it is: Version 2.1.4I'm thinking about creating a new thread since this one is getting rather long. But I haven't made up my mind yet.

Tsuiokuhen's act 3: the previous night at the mountain home:
I have a question about act 3 about Tomoe which bothers me and i am curious to know, its the part when she woked up in the night or whatever people want to put it as the middle of the night, she went outside and it was raining, she went to another room and then she did something that didn't show exactly aside from blood running and her hand was on her stomach while she has a piece of thread or string around her mouth..seems like she's pulling the thread/string by her mouth that cause the bleeding, anyway, what's the meaning behind that and what the heck is that blood running from?
Seihousen's OVA:
When Kaoru's reflect back about Kenshin, the goodbye part they parted in Kyoto, there was one part when she said she, "I knew that the times needed him,and I couldn't change his way of life....I knew that, I know that, but...I couldn't chase him at that time...again". So then it show Kaoru fall on her knees and crying and then another scene of her down on her knee crying with someone's hang carressing her head and face, *i myself; thought its Kenshin* but then it show the back of that person dressing formally with a sword on the left and holding a bag on the right walking away, the back of that person actually seem quite taller and his hair isn't long or red like Kenshin. This time, Kaoru broke down crying and it shows her blue's ribbon turn to red. I REALLY want to know who is that person's back and what scene does that represent? This is one reason this Seihousen's OVA confused the heck out of me and makes no sense whatsoever yet it ended so tragically sad to the heart and tears.
Ahhh a few more questions please and thank you for answering them to your best knowledge=)
now back to Tsuiokuhen OVA and this time i wanted to know about that guy names Tagasuki Shinsaku or the other way for his name since it didn't mention much of him aside he has Tuberculosis and cough in the end and die when he was on the horse. OVA also mention this woman named "Uno" as Tagasuki's woman, although it didn't show her appearance at all in the OVA. In act 3, when Iizuu arrived at Kenshin's hide out in Otsu, he mention about Tagasuki was in jail and waited or hope he can get realeased and get his Kihei-tai group to fight once again. In act 4; it show Tagasuki's sitting on the horse watching the war and then cough out blood and fell, so does that mean at that time he already was released from jail? And when on earth did Iizuu start to betrayed Katsura&Kenshin? because it show later on in Act 3 he went to have this secret meeting with the shogunate, for me;i think its the time when Katsuya told him to find out more about Tomoe due to his suspicion of her?
Act 4: when Saitou fights with Kenshin, why it only show them fight but did not show the aftermath who won and what had exactly happen? did they just cross sword fight and walk away? Okita is the 1st leader of Shinsengumi right? he also has TB and die from it? what's with TB back in the days?
Act 2: who exactly burn down Kyoto and how did Kogoro Katsura die? in the Director's cut, in the beginning before Act 1 started, there was this huge parapraph writen in Japanese, aside from translated in the U.S. " although based on historical account, this story is fictional"...i am sure there's more to that since its a lot more written in Japanese form. Can someone translate the entired parapraph? One thing i like about Director's Cut is the explaination paragraph which makes us less confuse when it show during the Kyoto burned down and the end when Kenshin washed away and ended Bakumatsu. Aside from that i dislike the widerscreen and he cut off the part when Tomoe say "blood..your bleeding" to Kenshin after he slay the man in half and the most anticipating part in Act 4 when Kenshin blindly kill Tomoe and yelled in pain "Tomoe!"

You ask a lot of hard questions. lol I am not entirely sure about the first question you asked. I'll have to see it again, probably, and try to do a bit of reading about it. Your SeisouHen question.. it's most likely Kaoru's father. About the TB.. that was a very deadly disease back in the day. A lot of people died from it. Even today, one third of the world's current population have been infected with M. tuberculosis, and new infections occur at a rate of one per second. The only difference is now we have ways of stopping it from killing us, whereas back then they didn't so a ton of people died. Click here to learn more about Shinsaku Takasugi. If you still have questions after that, maybe I can find someone who knows more Japanese history to add. I'm having trouble actually learning about who really set Kyoto ablaze. I know the city itself wasn't literally "burned to the ground" or anything like that. In fact, it's practically the only city left in Japan that still has the old pre-WW houses and structures. Kogoro Katsura died of a brain disease. He was 43 at the time. Saitou and Kenshin have always ended their fights in draws. If you watch the series they stress that point. Okita Soji was indeed the captain of the first division of the Shinsengumi. And yeah, he died of TB. Like I said, it was a very wide-spread disease. Hope that helps. (I'll c/p this same post on the LJ community as well)

lol...whow=) its fun to ask question and especially related to this awsome anime series!^^ i did watch the entired tv series back in the olden days..to the present and once in awhile now too and will re-watch it when i got time because it is addicted and heck of a good anime, a beauty and bloody classic i am telling you..lol=) i am sure we all agree to that otherwise you wouldn't have to drag out this official RunoKen's FAQ=) and omygod..Takasugi Shinsaku is based on a real person?*shocked* i know Watsuki likes the Shinsengumi and used real name for the people in the anime, didn't actually think it'll be this real..lol. At least anime's version of the character is better looking and less haunting scary when you compare to the real one..^^ i am still amazingly suprise that it "actually" happens back in the 1800's with war going on like that and real samurai with their sword fighting,, it must be bloody chaotic. I really want the chance to check out Kyoto in Japan in the future about those pre-WW housed and structures!=) let me guess...is Katsuya also based on real person back in the days too?whowzer died of brain disease...what cause? too stress out perhaps? lol jk. ahh but yossha! i really appreciated for your help and knowledge in giving out answer to these as you said" hard questions" haha =) i am going to look forward to Tomoe's question from you anytime soon so prepare! lol..^^ p.s. i post on LJ too for this since you did your part..lol p.p.s...uhmmm i just realize my other part of takasugi's wasn't answer when he got released from jail or not and his woman's "Uno" and when Iizuu betrayed Katsuya and Kenshin? and also in the Director's cut, in the beginning before Act 1 started, there was this huge parapraph writen in Japanese, aside from translated in the U.S. " although based on historical account, this story is fictional"...i am sure there's more to that since its a lot more written in Japanese form. lol thanks!

Imagine my surprise when I went into the local bookstore and saw the Kanzenban being released in English under the "Viz Big" title. Sure, they had different covers, but it still shocked me. I guess I should pay more attention to the RK news. In light of this recent news I thought it'd only be appropriate to update the FAQ with the ISBN numbers for the English Kanzenban releases. Turns out there's six out right now. I'll update the FAQ again on a future date to include more. Version 2.1.5 Updated: * ISBN #'s for the English Kanzenban releases ("Viz Big") New Questions: * What is Viz Big? Be sure to download it and replace the older copy.
