The rest of this topic is for archival purposes; to see how Kaiou 7.0 evolved and what I was thinking/feeling as I made it. ------- Yes, it's true, I'm working on this dreaded bot yet again. I'm going to update it for the newer versions of mIRC which will allow scripters out there who use Kaiou to update/mess around with new options. I may also be adding in some new ideas. This won't happen until I've finished going through all the code and updating it though (which may very-well take me awhile). I'll keep ya posted. In the meantime, you may discuss/comment/otherwise yell at me here.#nosmileys

Hehe.
Well, for those who care.. I'm done working on it for tonight. "Derrr, gee, what'd you do?" Glad you asked. I've updated dbzcontrol.ini and basic_command.ini so that they work in the newest version of mIRC. That's a good start but wait, there's more! Not only have I set it up so players and monsters are in a sub directory (keeping the root directory a lot cleaner this time) and the documents have their own folder but I've also "upgraded" a few commands. Okay, a lot of commands. I'm basically going to take some of what I did for DORKS and adapt it for Kaiou. So a lot of things will improve, some will be changed (like the charge system), others will remain the same. Creating a character is now like DORKS where the players will be able to choose how they want to set up their starting stats.
I also managed to test all the commands in those two INIs and they all seemed to work. This doesn't mean that they're both bug-free. There's a good chance there's a few minor bugs that I just haven't caught yet. Kaiou 7.0 will need a ton of testing before this is all over.
Now for the bad news: because of the drastic changes to the code, the old zfiles will NOT work with this version. So anyone out there who is wanting to upgrade...well.. let me just say that it's probably faster and easier just to erase all your players and restart. That's how much stuff has changed. Unlike when I upgraded the equipment system I won't be writing a "how to convert your files" guide this time. I don't have time. I'll be lucky to finish this version in what time I DO have.
Anyway, so that's the progress of about two hours of work. When I wake up I'll continue and hopefully zip through this so I can work on some more goodies that I have planned before the release. Worse comes to worse I'll just have to release 7.0 until I get some extra free time and add the goodies as a later patch.
Zzzzz

Well, if you ever want any ideas for Kaiou 7, I can help with some brainstorming.

Well, I'm not looking for ideas just yet. I don't know if I will be at all. Right now I'm just converting it over so it'll work with the newer version of mIRC and updating a few commands (a lot of commands, really).
Anyway, so far today I've done:
-!addskill and !removeskill got updated. -!addtempskill <player> <skill> <level> added -!removetempskill <player> <skill> added -Adding techniques has changed slightly: !addtech <person> <tech name> <power> <type> [<status/affect modifer/element>] <mp usage> <stam usage> <ki it needs> <description> -Removing techniques has been modified slightly to work better. -!addboost <person> <boost name> <type> <maxlevel> -!removeboost <person> <boost name> -!addweapon <person> <weapon name> <type> <power> <ammo required> -!removeweapon <person> <weapon name> -Equipment system updated.
Equipment is officially finished and working correctly. :) Next up: to get the !addboost and !addtech up and running correctly (they're listed above, but I haven't tested them yet).
More to come!#nosmileys#nosmileys

Wasn't I the originally author of the addboost and addtech commands?

lol probably. But they've been updated/changed a lot since then (I'm using the DORKS version that I made).
More stuff that's finished and should be working:
-!setfatal <name of fatality> <description> -!erasefatal <name of fatality> -!setlimit <name of limit> <description> -!eraselimit <name of limit> -!setcombo <name of combo> <description> -!erasecombo <name of combo>

Boost system is restored and working good as new. In fact, it's better than the old Kaiou system. Monsters and Players use the same boost code, so not only does it make it easier to edit (for those who care about such things) but it means that monsters can do anything players can, including any stage of SSJ.
Monster systems are converted but untested. Also, the ATTACK command is in but still needs a lot more testing. However, most of the the new stuff has been tested a lot. Seems to be working well. Anyway, here's the list for this update:
-All of the monster creation systems were upgraded. NOTE you add techniques and boosts to monsters the same way you do to players now. There's no specific monster command to do it. -!auto monster <file name> <type> <description> -!custom monster <name> <hp> <mp> <stam> <ap> <dp> <cp> <cd> <eva> <bp> <description> -!setstat <name> <hp, mp, stam, ap, dp, cp, cd, eva, bp> <what to set it to> -!setweak <monster> <tech types to be weak to> -!monsterdesc <monster> <char/hurt/death/fly/land/rage/charge/rest> <desc> -Boost system has been reworked and is much better now. You still activate it by typing / me goes <boost name> [level <level #>] (the level and level # are for SSJ) -Revert commands: <name> reverts from <boost name> or !revert <boost name> or / me reverts from <boost name> -!cboost <boost name> <level> <desc> to set the descriptions for boost levels
INI files that are finished being converted:
dbzcontrol.ini basic_command.ini equipment.ini more_commands.ini monster.ini
Stuff to come next:
Skills Elements AI Fusion and (probably last) Techs

If nothing else, that ini should go down into history as the worst coded script EVER. lol anyone who hasn't seen the original should definantly download Kaiou 6.6+ just to look at it.
Anyway..
Jobs are done Kaiou-ken appears to be working right but needs some revisions (to work with the new stamina system) Monsters can now rest (<name> rests) Item commands should be done (but are untested as of now) Stamina now has a pretty big impact on battles. Without it your attacks will be cut in half and you will take a lot more damage than you normally wouldn't (how much depends on how strong your opponent is).
