Kaiou-ken should be done now with all the new revisions. It'll use Stamina first until that runs out then it will switch to HP. Because of the massive strain it puts on the body (as shown in the anime) it sucks stamina up like a vaccum and will do the same to HP. It'll also increase KI now instead of MP since not many people use magic and that seems kind of pointless.
The Room of Spirit and TIme training should be updated for Kaiou 7.0. Items and jobs were tested fairly well by Scott.
So that means:
kaiouken.ini train.ini items.ini jobs.ini
are now completed.
And now I'm too tired to work on it anymore. When I wake up I'll be working on the following (hopefully anyway), probably in this order:
Skills AI (it'll be quick and easy to convert) Elements Combine Power the Battle Systems The Tech attack system (dear lord, shoot me) the MUD (this is probably going to be THE last thing I do)

skills.ini is finished.
Some changes/notes:
-!weak_sense and !chi_sense were changed from their original commands but still work the same as they did -The Shape Shifting skill no longer affects stats. It's now just for looks. -!hide, !unhide, !spy on, !reabsorb and !split are gone.
None of them worked all that well, especially Split. If I get bored/motivated I'll make a newer (and better) version.
ai.ini elements.ini
Both should be finished and working right though I won't have a way to test until I finish the battle system and the tech command. Note that AI still is pretty buggy and may be risky to use since it might cause a flood.

battle.ini should be finished now, though it's untested. Combine Power needs to be tested as well. It's almost done, I think. Fusion, the Tech commands and the MUD are all that's left.

Well, it's been another long day working on Kaiou. I can't tell you how excited I am to almost be finished with this new version. It's coming along quite nicely. :)
Since the last update here's some things I'd like to point out:
-It's important to note that while AI was converted and should work, it still is faulty and buggy. Don't use more than one AI monster in a battle. -!whoseturn (corrected grammar) -Fixed a long-running bug that caused RAGE % to go into negatives. -!stance [<name of stance>] alone it will tell you what stance you're in, with the <name of stance> you can change it to something else. -!rstance <player> will tell you what stance he/she is in.
RAGE and LIMIT information are now in their own INI sections within the .zfile which makes readability a lot nicer. As noted above, the RAGE bug that caused rage percentages to go into negatives has been fixed (finally). And the potential for the same thing to happen with limit is also fixed. Fun.
combine power.ini is finished as well and appears to be working just fine.
I started the tech command. Not a lot of it, mind you, but it will check to see if you have the technique and will check to see if you're attacking yourself and/or if the person you're attacking (including yourself) is unconcious. That's as much as I'm doing with it tonight.
Tomorrow I will finish the tech command and try to finish fusion (forgot about it -_-). After that, it's just the MUD that needs to be converted and Kaiou 7.0 will be (pretty much) finished. Then some true bug testing will occur. If it all holds out and works as it should.. it will be ready to be released to the public.
"But James, what about a freakin MANUAL?" Because Kaiou was not really designed with you (the person running it) in mind... yes, a manual is definantly needed. I was tossing around the idea of writing a PDF file with information about the bot (in more detail than I include in the README.txt) and including it. If I don't get around to it by the initial release of Kaiou 7.0 it will be a seperate download at some point. Maybe. Depends on how exhausted I am after finishing this.
So that's it for today. Hoorah.#nosmileys

Fusion commands were rewritten from scratch. Because of this, it works SO MUCH better now!
Some things to note about the new fusion:
-!fusion name <first/last> <name (one word only)> -- remember to split your nick into two parts (one for the first and one for the last). Example: Gokou might be "Go" for his first, and "kou" for his last.
Without a name set neither version of Fusion will work.
-!addtech <name> Fusion -!removetech <name> Fusion -/ me uses potara with <name> -!potara accept <name> -!potara deny <name>
Remember that Potara Fusion is permanant. Both characters involved will be erased and sent to the "zapped" folder. Only the newly formed character will remain.

The Tech command is in worse shape than I remember. Seriously! I didn't think I ever programmed this bad. Ugh. But I'm working on it. Slowly but surely. Fatalities work again, as does the HEAL type techniques. Here's also a little preview of things to come with this version (involving techs):
<Iyouboushi> !hp <KaiouBOT> Iyouboushi's HP is currently: 1 * Iyouboushi uses his cure on Dummy <KaiouBOT> Iyouboushi uses his technique one final time before falling unconcious from the extreme strain on his body. <KaiouBOT> Iyouboushi chants, and a blue glow of energy covers Dummy's body <KaiouBOT> Iyouboushi heals Dummy for 57 hp! <Iyouboushi> !hp <KaiouBOT> Iyouboushi's HP is currently: 0 <Iyouboushi> !status <KaiouBOT> Iyouboushi's Status is currently: dead

-!ChargeMessage <on/off> to turn the "[name] is now at Charge Level [level]" message on/off (new style/retro).
Example:
When it's on:
<KaiouBOT> Iyouboushi gets fed up and throws Kaiou against the wall. DIE! <KaiouBOT> Iyouboushi is now at Charge Level 1.1
When it's off:
<KaiouBOT> Iyouboushi gets fed up and throws Kaiou against the wall. DIE!
If it gets too annoying now MASTERS or KAIOUS can turn it off via the command stated at the top.
In other news.. Limits and Combos now work. I'll be working on the rest of the stuff soon.

Didn't say it earlier so I should say it now: fusion.ini is finished. It's been tested by Sigma, Scott and I. I believe I've gotten all the bugs out of it and it works so much better now. :)
Now back to the rest of tech1.ini.
-INNER type techniques are changed slightly. Now the amount of life it drains is (MP required * 10) so be sure to set your MP lower than you used to.
Here's some more key things to note: Techs and Battle Power are intertwined. Without BP techs will suffer greatly. Techs themselves consume BP (as shown in the show). It's possible for a technique attack to be cut down to 1/4 of its potential (if BP is too low and if stamina is too low and the opponent is a strong guy). So players have to watch not only their stamina but their Battle Power as well.
I finished the Inner type tech. And I believe that's all I can do for tonight. I'm tired and pratically brain-dead.
I hope I can finish the tech command tomorrow. I really do. The MUD can wait since I can always include it as an add-on in the distant future. The problem is that I go back to school on Monday and will lose a lot of time to work on Kaiou. But I'm still saying next Friday will be the release. If I finish the tech1.ini tomorrow then that's a real possiblity as I don't have to be present for beta testing by tons of people. All they have to do is list every bug they find and it'll take less than an hour to fix them.
We'll see.

The tech command has been finished and mostly tested!! THAT MEANS tech1.ini IS FINISHED!!!! I've done the impossible!!
*passes out now*
Actually I'm still not 100% finished yet. The MUD is about 90% finished, with only the MUD version of attack to be added (it won't be upgraded to include stamina, I just want to finish it). After that.. it's basically lots of testing left and it will be ready for download.
Popups still need to be updated (and included). And there needs to be a manual to be written for the people who want to run it. I don't know when the manual will be finished though (if I'll be doing one at all). We'll see.

MUD is finished and tested. :)
Kaiou 7.0 is finished as far as I'm concerned. However, before I release it I will have lots of people test it and I'll fix whatever minor bugs that are found.
There's a few more ideas that could be put into this version, but I'll just save those for a patch sometime in the future. As it stands, Kaiou 7.0 is now 4802 lines of code. I'm quite impressed with not only myself for actually doing this true overhaul that it seriously needed, but also because it came out even better than I had hoped.
Everyone who's following this development log will be pleased to know that this is probably the most stable, most accurate (to the DBZ saga) and probably the coolest irc Battle Bot out there. :)
This will probably be my final post here until I release it to the public (which I'll also go back and update the first post).
