I dont know about anyone else, but I always look forward to E3, thats when I always find out about the new games that I'll end up buying for the rest of the year.
Most likely they will be announcing all the next Gen consoles then too. Although already they have announced the new X-box on MTV.. I know that if James manages to get one of the new consoles it will more likely than not be the only one he gets.
anyway.. Im not too sure which console to be excited about, so far the most interesting sounding one is the new Nintendo machine.. (ITS size is freaking scary! pile 3 dvd cases on one another and you have the size of the Nintendo revolution!) Also interesting is the wireless controllers and DVD/backwards compatability that the revolution is going to support. Yay for backwards compatibilaty!!!
anyway, what has anyone else heard on all this?

Pretty much what you said...
You just know that the next X-box (X-box 360? Bwahahahaha) or PS is just going to give you the same old stuff, but with better graphics, not that i dont like nice graphics, but the only intruigue left is with Nintendo, Nobody know what the hell there planning!

X-box really doesn't have much for me. The only games that I would even be interested in buying would be Fable and Morrowind; and I already own Morrowind for the computer. Fable I hear is good but really short, and isn't worth paying nearly $500 a system for.
The machine I'd most likely get would be the PS3. This really depends though. If it's backwards compatable, then I'm more likely to get it so that I can pass the PS2 down to my sister. If not, I dunno if I'll even bother. I don't even play video games enough to warrant buying a $100 machine, muchless a $400~$600 one.
I'll admit the Nintendo machine is the one I'm most curious about. It said it's backwards compatable and I'm dying to get the new Zelda game (and Ocarina of Time in that one set they sell). And I like how Nintendo said the online play for that machine would be completely free. Free is always good. I'm so tired of paying $13/month for one online game and then not even play it (or get bored with it). So a system that would allow you to play as much as you want, whenever you want, for free regardless if you're bored with it or not is awesome in my book.
But if the machine is going to cost the same as a PS3 or Xbox2 then I might just get a Gamecube when the prices fall some more and pick up the two games that I actually want (both Zelda games).
We'll see.

you could get an X-box for $150.. then Fable or Morrowind (why anyone likes that game is beyond me.) for $20.
PS3 Is supposed to be Backwards compatible with PS2, which means it more than likely will be with PS1 as well since the PS2 is basically running off the old PS just pumped up a lot. But who knows. I've heard pretty much nothing on PS3 other than it MIGHT be or most likely will be backwards compatible. So who knows..
X-box 360 (stupid name) has spilled the beans on everything its offering up (even rumored to be upgradeable so you wont have to go buy another system later.) The upgradeable thing would be neat however I fear that Microsoft may be pulling a Sega.. Remember the 32X? lol. Who knows tho, they are rich enough to pull it off so it could work.
Still the Nintendo offers up the most interesting thing (surprisingly) From the sound of it, its not radically different, but it sounds like a great step in the right direction for the lagging company. Free online is something I hadn't heard before, so that is certianly an interesting idea! If they do that I'd seriously consider online play.. although I really am not a fan of Online stuff, having it free just makes it that much more appealing.

You dont like morrowind? BLASPHEMY! The game is really neat, but the mods are even neater! I wish I had the PC version: www.wizards-islands.com/wi.htmWhich brings me to my next point, I hope they unveil more on Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, that game looks sex-ay! Another game I want to hear about is Starcraft: Ghost, theive been presenting it at E3 for something like the past 4 years Maybe a little more news on Zelda 2005 would be nice, like a tittle perhaps? A cool yet fake video on the Revolution: megagames.com/news/redir.cgi?http://downloads.megagames.com/movies/NintendoN.zip

Well, I can believe that people don't like Morrowind. It's too massive for its own good. I mean, for crying out loud, I played it for a month and couldn't even find the second main thing to do. I spent so much time exploring and hadn't even covered 1/20th of the map. There comes a point when "enough is enough." Some people don't have the rest of their lives to play and beat a game. But on the other side of the coin, it is pretty amazing that they could make a game so massive that it actually feels like a real world.
I didn't know there were mods for it either. If I had, I might not have erased it so quickly to clear up some space. Hmmm..

FFXI will now also be on the Xbox 360 and Xbox Live. Joy.
Anyway, I think I'll wait on the next gen consoles, even if they are backwards compatible.
Free online play sounds cool. Hopefully it won't be in Japan only on that. Not that I would play online games more (or again) because of it, just saying it is cool for it to be free. Then again, I would rather have a high speed connection before I play online games anyway.
We can only hope Starcraft Ghost will come out soon. I remember first hearing about it ages ago it seems like. Of course, Nintendo stays quiet about the Zelda 2005 game, so no surprise there.

Morrowind was boring as HFIL to me. You want to know what happened to me the first time I played it? Here goes..
I turn it on.. talk to a bunch of longwinded boring people, after ages of trying to get my character put together I finally manage it.. I go outside and try to talk to people, instead, I accidentally punched an old lady who called the authorities on me thus killing me right away and I had to start all that over again.. UUUUUUUUUGH!! SUCK!.. and yeah, as Iyou said, TOO massive. Any game you have to search for an entire day for an objective is TOO massive.
now onto new things..
FFXI for free would be nice.. I'd play it if that were the case..
Zelda yay... it looks nice.. I'll hold my excitement for sequels like Devil May Cry 4 and Metal Gear 4 that were announced for the PS3.

I keep waiting to hear about the new Zelda game. It's got me interested beyond belief. It makes me feel like when I heard about the Zelda game for the SNES before it came out, or the first GB (not even GBC, gasp!) Zelda game (that game was freakin addictive).
FFXI won't be free. I'm pretty sure the only console that's discussing free online play is the Nintendo Revolution and even then it might only be in Japan.

Thought I'd post this here too. Sony Holodeck... coming soon to a store near you! Only $2,999.99! "With our patented REAL FEELINGS you will actually FEEL what the characters feel! Characters get hit in the head? Hope you have tylenol near by!" Of course then Xbox would try to out do it. Microsoft Matrix.. makes the Sony Holodeck seem like a mere toy! And Nintendo will have to top THAT. Nintendo Dimension.. Why pretend to play a character in a foreign world when you can actually BE there?
