Silly Zoka! REVOLUTION means looking at the world through a 45 degree angle!
Seriously, I don't know what the fascination with verticle CD trays is about either. I never put my PS2 that way because of what you said, the discs will just fall out. Not to mention it's kind of awkward trying to load a disk in sideways.
Anyway, Nintendo hasn't mentioned the actual specs yet. I'm curious to see those. We already know that it's not as powerful as the PS3 or the XBOX2, but that doesn't mean that it's going to be an inferior machine. We'll just have to sit tight and see what happens next.

Update on the Revolution:
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No more need for ROMs! This is a smart move on Nintendo's part. I just hope you don't have to pay for each game you want to download.

Looking through the Revolution pics again, i think i understand, nintendo is obviously trying to get away from their reputation as 'Kiddie stuff' and, that thing looks pretty much the opposite of that. The openable panel to put in controlers and memory cards is sorta neat i guess, but the neatest thing is that you could probably sneak it into the office (zany office slaves...) and claim its a removable hardrive or something. Black and glossy= very profesionalized look. Still looks sorta gimmicky, but in a different way.

most likely the downloads will cost money, but if Nintendo is smart, they wont, because what better way to sell the new system and destroy the competition than to have about 20,000 free games right out of the box?

That would suck in a way if you had to pay for a game you already have.. but they might cause they'll have to get the games so they would work on the system anyway.

Well, your gonna have to buy memorycards for all those games anyways (i know there tiny, but 20 000 can probably take up a few cards), so theill make more profit out of those i guess. Unless this thing comes with its own hardrive, doubtful because of the size though.

OH JOY! NINTENDO IS GOING TO RE-RE-RE-RELEASE ITS CLASSICS FOR THE THOUSANDTH TIME AND YOU HAVE TO PAY MORE MONEY TO PLAY THE "CLASSICS" THAT YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED SINCE NINE YEARS AGO! I mean, last week.
You know the word you use when 99% of your income is from re-releasing the "classics" and relying entirely on people's nostalgia for profit? Decadence. Nintendo, can you say decadence? Deeeecaaadeeeeeence? Oh, whoops, sorry, I forgot that you're too senile to use your vocal chords properly. Aww methinks it, seems like you gotta get your diapers changed again.
Good grief.

Yeah, I know. I mean, they re-released the original Metroid for a third time already. Why bother doing that when you can play it on Metroid Prime 1 or Metroid Zero Mission?
If I had a NES and a working SNES, I would play the games on that, but I don't so I think it's good they're making it so you can download them. I also know I could just get roms.. just that I would rather play it on the tv anyway.
Hm, they probably would make the money from the memory cards. NES games are small, so you can most likely have all of them on one or two cards. SNES and N64 games will take the most of course.
