So I saw episode 35 of the Live Action Sailor Moon series. You know what's scary? It was actually really good. The special effects for this show were really good, especially considering it seems to be a low budget show. The story is harder to judge because I'm jumping into the middle of an arc and can only understand some of what they're saying but it seems to be well written (lots of emotion behind it). The villains are, as expected, cheesy but interesting. The transformations are fairly true to the Sailor Moon anime series (from what I remember anyway). The opening song is neat, I wish I could find it for download somewhere. Overall, I'm shocked that I enjoyed it but it made me wonder something.
Why is there only a live action Sailor Moon? Why not other live action shows based on anime? Why not a live action Trigun or Rurouni Kenshin? Do they not think it could be done? I personally think it'd be totally awesome to see either of those series live action--and it's definantly plausable since they're more grounded into reality than, say, Sailor Moon (especially Kenshin).
So yeah. I rather enjoyed it and I'm not afraid to admit it. I'd recommend it, if for no other reason than for a few laughs (like seeing the two stuffed cats have voice overs).

Some more thought:
Normally I'd agree with people that making anime into live action (movies/series) is a horrible idea, but this time I'll disagree. The thing is, it's not made by Hollywood. It's produced, filmed, and otherwise made in Japan. I'm not a Sailor Moon expert, but after seeing one episode (episode 35) I'm actually hooked on it. It's well done. This is the way things SHOULD be done. There's no Matrix-like effects (no stop rotations, or anything like that), the special effects look like they could have come out of the anime, and even the transformations into their Sailor counter parts are actually well done. Of course there are some parts in the show that you can tell they have a low budget, and there's just some hilarious things in it as well (such as a stuffed cat playing the role of Luna with a voice-over that may very-well be the original voice actor for the Luna character in the anime). Overall, it's well done. Who would have guessed?
I'm fully convinced that our Hollywood has lost their path. It probably started sooner but when they cancelled Angel in favor for more reality shows and teen dramas (as if we don't have enough of those) I knew for a fact they had lost their way. We should really take lessons from Japan. I mean, they produced an interesting, funny, very like the anime counterpart, for probably less than half the cost of one of our lame shows.
So I'd be willing to give a Live Action Kenshin or a Live Action Trigun a chance as lon gas it was produced & made in Japan. If it was made in America, forget it.

Live action Sailor Moon? I fail to see the point... do they just remake every episode like this or is it a new story... cuz I rewached some old episodes (the animé stuff) and its SO corny (like almost all old anime)

They started over from the beginning. From what I understand, episode 1 is when Luna (remember, a stuffed cat with a voice over lol) drops onto Usagi's head and helps her become Sailor Moon. Of course there's villains (who seem to be kind of interesting in the episode I saw). It doesn't seem to be like the old anime at all, but I never saw much of the old anime to compare with.
