The patch has been completed and released, thus this topic is kept for development logs and to see how it progressed (well, somewhat in this case). To download the patch go to this topic------------------------------------------------------- Can't believe I'm working on Kaiou again...but I am. I think I say that every time too. Oh well. It probably won't be a big patch (not like 7.1c was) but I'm tired of using letters.. so I'll switch it to 7.2. As it stands I've already fixed a big bug that wouldn't let people set their multiple desc #'s (so you were stuck using only 1). I'm also adding in multiple tech descs--i.e. players can set multiple descriptions for the same techniques and it'll display one at random. I'll keep progress here until it's out.

Yay! You fixed an insect! You could be a veterinarian! Or, more specifically, an entomologist.

Multiple technique descriptions are in! It also works for limits, fatalities and combos. The key in this is remembering to tell the bot how many descriptions you're using for each technique. If you forget.. you can set descriptions all you want but none of them will ever show up.
Commands are as follows:
!techdesc # <tech name> <desc to use> This will set your technique description. NOTE that if you want to set your DEFAULT (the first) description you do NOT need the # there. Just !techdesc <tech> <desc> as you have always done. However, if you want more than one you need the # there.
!settechnumber <tech name> <# of descs to use> This is the command that'll tell the bot that you're using more than one description. REMEMBER you must do this command for EVERY TECHNIQUE (including LIMITS, FATALITIES and COMBOS) that you're using more than one description on.

Gah a lot of bug fixes. And bugs that might have been in here for ages and never discovered until now (by me at least). Crazy. Here's a list of stuff done since last night:
- "Claw" added as a type of weapon that can now be added to players - Fixed a mismatch and a small bug in the !item-view command - Fixed a few equipment issues in the equipment.lst - Fixed a small bug in the <name> charges <his/her/its> energy monster command - Fixed a bug with the / me fulls that wasn't turning off the poison status effect - Made it so Rage can keep you alive if you happen to enter it while your hp hits 0. Previously this was a bug that would keep you in the battle but wouldn't let you do anything (so the battle would end up being an endless loop). However, if your HP is too far in the hole (-50 or greater) after an attack even rage won't save you and it'll just put your status as dead. - Fixed a !bat list bug (again) and made formatted it a little nicer

Something else that's worth mentioning:
I'm in the process of adding capsules into Kaiou. As it stands there are three different types of capsules:
Class A Capsules ("A"ction items [herbs, senzus, etc]) Class B Capsules ("B"onus to a random stat [small bonus]) Class C Capsules ("C"rap -- useless stuff)
The only way you can get a capsule is to win a battle and even then it's random to help prevent people from abusing it. It's meant as a random reward for those who play long enough. I ask that people please DO NOT abuse this system by starting stupid short battles just to attempt to get a capsule.
More info on that when I get around to actually coding it. Right now I'm still adding items for the class C capsules.

AAAAAAAAAAAAND capsules are officially in the bot and working. They work exactly as I said above. You get a capsule by winning a battle (it's random, 30% chance of getting one) and then can choose to save or open it. You use !capsule letter open in order to open it. Depending on what type of capsule it is will determine what's inside of it. It's just a fun little bonus for the players. I also added FOOD type of items into the bot. These items will restore all of your stamina but won't restore health or BP, so keep that in mind. Also Absorb type techs were tweaked a little bit to try and make them more balanced. After a lot of testing this version should be ready to upload to the public.

- Fixed a bug in the !decstat command - New Item Type: food Food will restore all of a player's stamina. It will not restore health or BP though. - Absorb tech type power has been changed slightly to try and help balance it out - !ki will now display how much Ki you have built up - fixed a minor bug in the !checkmonster command - !unequip all was added as a quick macro to quickly remove all primary equipment. It does NOT remove weapons or accessories. Yeah.. I think I'm reaching the end of this patch. I'm getting a bit tired of working on it now. So after a bit more testing a few more things.. I'll release it.
