I blame Iyou for this. I watched the 3rd movie, and now have some strange urge to read the books. Got the 1st one a few days ago and am about half way through. Doesn't help that I watched the 1st movie a long time ago.
Anyway, wondering if there are anymore Potter heads around. (Iyou!)

Anyway, wondering if there are anymore Potter heads around. (Iyou!) Erin is. She's the one who got me the set of books, and gave me the last one to read. In other words, it's her fault that I got into Harry Potter. Not that I mind of course, as the books get better with each one and are definitely worth reading. The movies aren't as good to me, because they cut and change so much stuff but there are aspects of the movies that I do like (the guy who plays Snape for example). I'm surprised there wasn't a HP topic in here before now.

I blame my dad and step-mom for getting me into it. I know they have up to the most recent one, so I'll probably read them here sometime.

I thought the second book was the low point of the series. Third book is pretty good, fourth book is good, fifth book is great, and so far the sixth book is really good too.

So far I am as much into the 2nd book as I was the first. I have the first two Movies now. I also see what you mean about the changes in them, although I see them more as time savers rather than dragging the movie out LOTR style and making it boring. We should have a Harry Potter FAQ like you have the Kenshin FAQ. For instance we could note the differences between the books and the movies. That would be interesting, at least to us.

I recall telling Andy about my reading of Harry Potter way back in August on Myspace. Not my fault you boys have horrible memory. That's around the same time I bought the set for Iyou too.
I liked the 4th one best 6th and 5th were great too... I dunno.

Halfway through book 4. Geez.. These things get more horrible as they go don't they? Ah well I like it that way. I expect the last one to be full of violence at this rate. I also have all the books up to 5, and plan on getting 6 the minute I finish book 5... after 6 I'll be rabidly awaiting the final one.. When's that coming out btw? ...I really want to see the Goblet of Fire movie now..

Sorry, but hey why not read Eragon and Eldest in your spare time after that? oh and wow the violence in the 4th book... child's play in comparison. and the big ending in the 6th one is not about who dies but about what happens after the death... And the flys start dropping.
