People are saying this is one really hard game..
I read somewhere that Capcom decided to take the hard version of the Japanese game and release it here as the normal version. lol.
here's a quote from one of the reviews I read.
If you somehow go through the first level on your first sitting without dying, either you’re a gaming god or you’re just not from this world.
Guess Im a gaming god or from another planet then. the first level was a breeze. The 3rd level tho... lol.

I've read that Easy mode on here is like playing it on Normal mode on the Japanese version. Reason why I think is because people over here said Devil May Cry 2 is easy.
Heh, first stage is easy, first boss on the second stage can be a challenge, and yes the second boss on the third stage is mean. I haven't got past that yet on Normal mode, I have on Easy. I'm sure all I need to do is larn the patterns and that'll be it. I'll probably see if I can do that on Normal, but first I want to play it on Easy so I can see the rest of the game.
Though the game is fun, it can be hard for most people. Eh, guess I'll just have to keep at it then.

Well, I'm on Mission 18 in Easy Mode. Already died on it, oops. Guess that's what I get for not playing action games more. I'll probably try again later. Currently I have Trickster Style at level 3, and Swordmaster is almost there too. Kind of surprised I like using Trickster more than Swordmaster.
Of course, after finishing the game on Easy, I'll go back to trying it on Normal mode. I'm sure I'll die a lot, but oh well.

Well, finished this game on Easy mode a few weeks ago. The last two missions are pretty fun, and I like how the credits are done on the game. ¬_¬
I have all of the blue orb fragments and all of the abilities for the weapons (I went through mission 12 for about a hundred times or so it seems like). I just need to finish leveling Royal Guard and I'll have all of those done. Then I'll go off and play through Normal mode.

Replying to this since DMC3: Special Edition is out. I haven't played it much. Since I already had the DMC3: DA save file, I could already play as Vergil and access the Bloody Palace. (Which was first in DMC2.) Mainly the only thing I have done so far is try to fight Cerberus with Vergil, but lost. So I then decided to power Vergil up by going to the palace. At first I didn't get far since I haven't played a DMC game in some time, but started doing better. I then got to floor 1900 with the starting health and DT runes, but it threw the second to last boss at me and I lost. (Almost won though.) After buying a Blue Orb and a few Purple Orbs, I was able to get to floor 3500. I could have went to 4000 possibly, but I was too sleepy by then. The game is basically just as fun as the first release, Vergil is fun to play as. Probably good to get it if you enjoyed the first release, and it's only $20 too.

I got it, it's a blast. Almost glad that the original DMC3 died in the fire, so I wouldn't have had qualms about buying a 2nd copy. This is why I love Capcom! They make a game, then make a cheaper version that is better!

By the way, if someone found me the soundtrack to this game somewhere, I'd love them forever.

Would have been nice if Capcom put a story in the Vergil mode and allowed you to fight Dante instead of Vergil with just a red coat. Still fun to play as Vergil, but would have been nice if they did that.

Agreed. I'd have much preferred that over the silly unlockable movies you get for beating the game numerous times.
