Good luck on dooming that dragon, it's probably a one-in-a-million thing. I hope for you that dooming it won't just kill off it's first head first and then forces you to fight the second head as well.

With my insane RPG luck, a 1/1,000,000 chance is more like 1/25, so I have a chance.
And I think using a chain of summons to kill him in two rounds is possible(though not legal in this challenge), so I'm thinking HP doesn't reset for each head, so I *think* it'll work. Problem is, equipment breaks randomly, and if it doesn't work before it breaks, I SOL. I am NOT getting another Prophet's Hat. I got mine in my second fight with a Dread Hound, and it's a 1/255 drop. My luck is not THAT awesome. So I'm opting for the heroic route.
I really should be worrying more about Saturos and Menardi, though. I've yet to block that instant death stuff, and I can't heal everyone at once.

Ah yes, Saturos and Minardi... So long since I played the first Golden Sun. I'm really interested in seeing how this will be concluded.

I'm at the end of the game on Solo Tidus. Decided to go do the Monster Arena before beating the story, since that makes the optional stuff boring for me. Went around the Sphere Grid in 15 minutes with this setup:
Ascalon(Weapon) +5% Strength(was on when I bought it) Double AP(Gives me 2x AP, which is this game's Exp) Overdrive->AP(converts the amount of charge my "Limit Break" guage earns in battle into AP)
Overdrive Mode=Comrade. Charges when allies take damage proportional to their max HP.
1)Fight King Cactuar in the Arena. 2)Wait until an ally gets hit by 99,999 Needles. 3)Run.
Tidus now has over 70 Levels. There are much more profitable ways to break this game, but all my other characters have an HP total between 300~1000, so the Comrade thing works nicely. Now to catch ten of everything in Spira. Then, on to Stat Maxing, which'll take about 5 hours if I get a good fighting system going. Not to mention making a suitable shield. ----------------- STILL levelling Golden Sun. It's become the game I play on the way to the store/school/church, and I'm getting strong enough that the random encounters don't one-hit my weakest member. Two hits, and everyone but the main man is dead>.<

Haha. I remember doing that on my run through FFX too. I'm glad you posted that here, because I had completely forgotten about it. Now when I get to that part in FFX J I'll do it a few times to get super strong.

Yeah, it gets pretty astronomical what you can do(for those who don't know, I'm using like THE WORST AP trick weapon). Especially you, sir, what with your J-version. My NA release has an AP "cap" patched in*. 35,000 AP is the max in a certain step in the calculation. But then, 72 levels a hit vs. 99 a hit isn't TOO big a difference.
Man, the first time I played this, I got Tidus, Rikku, and Auron around the grid legitimately, and everyone else halfway around. Eventually, halfway into Stat Maxing, I was using Triple AP weapons, but I still got all my AP from the KILLS. That save has about 340 hours. It had 80 when I beat the final boss.
It may surprise some that I actually have a life.
*Gawd, does Square suck at fixing their problems.

Holy crap man. That's insane. I don't know what my playtime is on my NA FFX, but I know it's nowhere NEAR that. I also seem to recall that only Tidus had been around the board once in my save. Hm.
I take it on that save file you were able to beat Nemesis, right? (Isn't he the last optional boss? I'm trying to remember)

Stat Maxing is its own game, really. I got Tidus, Auron, and Rikku to 255 in every stat but Luck, which was around 40-50. HP/MP were 9999/999 of course, but that didn't require tweaking. I took a very roundabout way of doing it, too. I got rid of my Magic Nodes that were les than 4 BEFORE getting a ton of Magic Spheres. It took me 4 hours just to fill up the huge hole I made.
On Nemesis:I was, but I only used Tidus(Caladbolg has no useless slots on it like 2x Gil or AP), Rikku(never used Mix other than to get a Pray=9999HP thing going), and Auron(Free Overdrive to Tidus via Entrust. Also, Masamune's First Strike). These were the only three I ever maxed out. I tried fighting Nemesis with just physical attacks, because damn Quick Hit is too good ignore at any time.
But I realized I had to step it up. I made Weapons like these:
Magic +20% One MP Cost Magic Booster Break Damage Limit
Fire deals 14,000, Drain heals 60,000, and Flare is a very fast spell to Doublecast. Ultima=Way. Too. Long.
I never went past 9999 HP on anyone before beating Nemesis, since Grand Spark is the move where you WANT to die(too many status effects), and Armageddon will always do 99999 damage to you. NO MATTER WHAT. So Auto-Life/Auto Phoenix->Alchemy is much better than taking multiple turns healing your guys. So focus more on reviving than healing. That's why I ditched the Caladbolg. Half HP=much lower attack.
Seriously, though, on Nemesis, all you really need is Strength and Speed maxed. This games comes down to hits and turns. Everything else exists to help slower and weaker characters. With 255 Defense, you can survive his basic attack with Protect. It'll only do about 8,000 then. So what I mean?
Also, unless you're one of those people that HAS to beat the optional guys, stay away from Nemesis. It takes hours to prepare for him, and you basically get a useless medal for it.
