Bumping. The Ocarina of Time speed run is now officially 4 hours and 46 minutes (11 minutes faster than the previous one). How in the world this guy managed to shave 11 minutes off the time is beyond me. I previously mentioned that I was thinking about recording Crystalis. However, it looks like someone beat me to it. Believe it or not, someone has done a speed run for Crystalis. The time is 1 hour and 9 minutes, which is freaking impressive considering this is an RPG. There's a bunch of other amazing speed runs on speeddemosarchive.com and you should go check them out. Now.. what game should I work on quickly? Maybe I should keep practicing mission 30 of Bleach Blade Battlers so that I can do it faster than anyone else. >.>

Also is Mission 30's objective to press the action button once?

XD
Beat 100 (no name) Shinigami. That's mission 30. Sounds easy, but most of them cast kidou and are annoying. :/ My best time is barely under 10 minutes. To get "A" ranking you're supposed to do it in 5.

Lol, go for 3 minutes! I'm sure some no-life Japanese person's already got that, at least.

I did a few things like this. More challenge runs than speedruns, though I combined the two ideas in FFVII.
I beat Final Fantasy VII in less than 24 hours, without a break. I had friend on both sides of me, and we had a three-way race. I won, and no one else beat the game. I had 20 hours on it. Did the VII quick run again a few months ago, and beat it in 18:30. The idea is to skip about everything you don't absolutely need, and run from most random encounters. If you have something stronger than Climhazzard, or a level 2 limit on three guys, you planned better than I did, or you powerlevelled(didn't run away enough).
Solo-run through VII, nothing special. Didn't level up for the most part, though I did get three-four levels in the Underwater Reactor because of Carry Armor. If he picks you up, Game Over. So I had Omnislash take both arms out on the first turn. Later I killed Emerald Weapon with my level 90 Cloud, without Underwater, Final Attack, and Knights of the Round. I'm thinking of taking off most of my five counterattacks and just sticking to 4x Cut, and I eventually want to do this without Omnislash, though the time limit factor is keeping me from that for now. Two months after that, I saw a YouTube video where someone did it with a Level 99 Tifa, without Hero Drinks. I was kinda sad, but then I saw the player screw up the Limit Break at the end, so all is well. Five Hits and two MISSes...
I beat Secret of Mana with the main character. Solo running in an action RPG with a non-magic user is suicide.
In Kingdom Hearts 2, I played through without using abilities(NO AP was ever set to an ability). Donald didn't even have magic, and I used the recommended levels as level caps. Beat the game at Lv. 51. I sorely missed Aerial Recovery; juggling isn't so fun when it's happening to YOU.
Playing a no-Djinn game(beat Colosso at Lv. 21), though I'm stuck at the final fights. I've heard of people beating it at Level 11, but that required the use of DJINN. I can't think of anything that can help me other than getting to high HIGH levels; I'm at mid-40s now, and that's pretty excessive for a normal game. I'm kinda happy that I played up to there at the pace of a normal game, with no breaks to level up or get the best shop equipment.
I can speed through Super Mario Bros. nearly perfectly until stage 8-1. Strangely, I got through that stage epically(sp?) on a hardtype that an Icyforum user made.

How in the world were you able to beat SoM with only using the hero?! I can barely beat the game using all three characters. X-x
I never could beat all of SMB playing through each level. I always had to use the warp pipes to skip to level 8. Once I got there, though, I could zoom through with no problems.

Did I mention I was level 57 at the end? I used the Moogle Belt trick to evade a lot of damage, but I'm certain I can tank the Mana Beast at 60-something with a full stock of item. I only had two Honey Jams.
I beat everything else without the evade glitch(using Moogle Belt during the attack will negate the damage coming your way), and I'm planning to do this on Snes9x and record it, going at a quick pace. I had to get to level 19 at the Fire Gigas. Focused magic; OUCH.

Huh. That's an interesting glitch. I never heard of that.
Good luck. I'll be interested in seeing it when you get it done.

More challenges here>.< As an update to the Golden Sun no-Djinn game I mentioned earlier...the quest is stalled. I haven't went up against the final boss, since I'm still levelling near the end/trying to get this one RARE robe for my Wind Mage, Ivan. I've asked some fellow gamers about this challenge, and they told me that I literally have no choice but to get to level 80! This is a game where you can beat the game at levels in the high 20's. Painlessly. But Djinn are the lifeblood of this game's battle system, infinitely more so than VII's Materia and possibly even VIII's Junction System. But don't worry, I've got a plan in store. One involving a 1/255 rare drop, and the most defensive battle EVER. If my plan goes well, I'll win without pulling a weapon out. For those here that have played GS: 1. Prophets Hat's 2. Lucky Cap on Ivan 3. Redeem Lucky Medals for Waters of Life 4. Kill the semi-final boss with a heroic amount of skill and luck. Hard part over...maybe? 5. I have heard from several places that the final boss can be doomed(FF style Countdown). If I can Doom him with the Prophet's Hat, I just have to tank his nuclear war attacks for five turns. 6. ?? 7. Profit! But again, I need LUCK. Real Life Luck. But once this is out of the way, I can import the challenge to Golden Sun 2! ----------------- Playing FFX, Solo Tidus. I'm at Bevelle right now. It might be me, but damn is this game easy with one character. I AM getting phat equipment drops, like a Shield with SOS Regen in the Thunder Plains, but still... -------------------- Playing the Secret of Mana again, starting to record the solo Hero run. I'm around the Underground Temple, and I'm unhappy. POWERLEVEL TIME. I have to get strong enough to take out half the game with boring ease, just to survive an early boss. I'm pedantic, so I'll record the entire run, but damned if that block of hell is ever leaving my hard drive.
