So, thinking there was all kinds of inovation and whatever, I fell into the trap and bought a wii. So far I gotta say Im sadly disapointed.
Im the kind of person that rents a game before I buy it, (unless I just know it will be good like D.M.C or MGS) So, Im thankful I've rented every game (with the exception of WarioWare Smooth Moves) before I up and bought it.
So here goes the list of games I've played and what I think of them....
Wario: Easily the best game on the system. Its short, but fun. Worst thing is that you'll get tired of it pretty fast due to its shortness. Great party game.
Trauma Center: Fun, but irritating. Poor direction in the game leads to lots of getting stuck and controller throwing frustration.
Zelda: Great game, but nothing you cant have on Gamecube. The graphics are identical. The only thing different is Wii Functionality, and frankly I'd take a regular controller over that any day.
Need For Speed: Carbon: 5 minutes with this and you'll turn it off throw your controller and wish you'd bought a PS3. (after playing it on PS2, I realized this game was crap anyway.)
Wii Sports: Fun for about 10 minutes. Boxing is unresponsive and lame, Bowling is kinda fun. the rest.. eh.
Wii Play: See above, except more disapointing.
So.. At home I have 2 more hopefuls (Prince of Persia, and Paper Mario) maybe I'll come accross a good game someday...
So far Im pretty disappointed.

Yeah, I was going to buy one on launch day, I even had my money ready, but by the time I got to Walmart there were already over 20 people in line. So I decided to just go with a DS and boy am I glad I did.
Right now I wouldn't have anything to play for it. I would have gotten a few games (Zelda, PoP, Madden) but after that I would have been bored of it. So I'm going to wait until at least Metroid Prime 3 comes out, because that's the one I really really want.

I absolutely and totally agree with you, Death. Super Monkey Ball is pretty fun, but it's a lot nicer to play with a normal controller because humans are not capable of keeping their hands completely still, so when you reach the pirate ship levels, your natural inability to keep both hands completely level keep killing you. Then there's Rayman, which is great fun, but pretty low replay. And the end sucks. Sonic: Great gameplay, horrible story and cutscenes. Dialouge sucks as well. Overall just a bit too easy for my taste, though. I hope Paper Mario will be good, and they'd better not mess up on Metroid Prime 3... ...or I'll cry in a corner.

I heard something down the line that you can play all the Gamecube games on the Wii. Can you? Because if you can I'm - I guess you could say - set. When I got my Gamecube, it was like a part of me. I think I have around 40 games or so for it..
--This is a little off topic, but I heard a rumor that Nintendo has officially stopped producing Gamecubes. Is this true? Or is my "friend" BSing me again?

Or is my "friend" BSing me again? Yes it's backwards compatible with all GC games. It even has four GC controller ports and two GC memory card slots on the top of it. It's also has what they call the Virtual Console, which lets you buy games starting from the NES all the way to the N64. You can also buy games from the Sega Genesis and a few other systems. Though I can't remember which ones. You can check out wikipedia.org and it's got all of the info you could ask for. As far as Nintendo producing more GC, I haven't the slightest idea.

Or is my "friend" BSing me again? Yeah, it's completely compatible, Datel even released a new Freeloader that's fully compatible with the Wii. About Nintendo having stopped producing GameCubes, that might well be true. Since they also stopped producing (or at least shipping out) GameCube Memory Cards. Which made getting hold of a new one pretty much of a hassle for me, since I only use first party ones.

I probably should've waited to get my Wii, but I at least wanted to be the first in my family to own one, since my brother usually gets all the new damn game systems and it pisses me off Currently I only have Zelda and Sports, but probably will pick up a couple other interesting games. Hopefully Nintendo will get their heads out of their asses and think about online play as well as offline play, if not lets hope 3rd party vendors do online play. if not N will lose to 360 and even PS3. Well, that and have some decent titles, but since the system did just launch, it's too eary to critisize it. that and it is a very big hit among non-gamers.

The only GC game you would ever have issues with playing on the Wii is if you wanted to play Phantasy Star Online and play it online. Apparently it won't work with the Wii's Internet connection, only with a GC.
I tried a demo of Zelda at a Game Crazy, and since I'd already played it on the GC, I found I didn't like it and preferred the controller over the Wiimote. I also played Wii Sports and Excitetruck over a friend's house, and I liked them, but I'm still eh on the concept. I can only hope that when Metroid Prime 3 comes out, they don't screw it up. I might get a Wii only for that, but I also usually get game consoles way after they have been out to see how they last.

I think part of Wii's problem is that they're heavy on multiplayer games which will sorta hurt them if they forget that some people don't like to play with others. :[
