Finally, Naruto games have made their way to the US. And, I immediately went and purchased them (and an replacement Gamecube.) I have beaten both already, so now it's review time!!
First up, Naruto for the Game Boy Advance.. I can't remember the name, but who cares.. Its NARUTO!
Good: Fun little diversion for about an hour or so. Challenging enough to not be boring, Can play as Sauske or Naruto, and it's pretty humorous! (I laughed out loud when Naruto messed up his Jutsu and farted instead. Which cost me the Boss battle I was fighting... ) Addictive for an outdated little handheld game. More or less its like a Naruto game for SNES!
Bad: BELIVE IT! BELIEVE IT BELIEVE IT BELIEVEIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bad enough I have to read it every 5 seconds but there's a soundclip too! AAACK!! I know Naruto is supposed to be obnoxious, but god.. the american Naruto is SO MUCH MORE SO!! AAAAAck. Game is a bit too easy, and you can blaze through it with both Naruto and Sauske in about 1 hr. Plus, I don't think there are any unlockables...
now for Naruto for the Game Cube.. I believe its called Naruto: Clash of Ninja (and yeah, they dubbed over all the voices with American VA's so you're treated to a bazillion Believe Its...)
Good: a Great easy to pick up and play but challenging to Master fighter. Nothing too complicated, and it's pretty addictive. Lots of different modes (which are pretty standard in a Fighting game of late, but this was made in 2002, so its not all bad.) Quite addictive, and provides a decent challenge mode if you put it on difficulty 3 or 4 (out of 4)
Bad: Not enough characters.. I think there are 8 in all. And of course American VA's are kind of obnoxious after a while. No option to have Japanese VA's instead. (LEARN FROM ONIMUSHA DAMMIT!!) Not enough Unlockables, (Rock Lee playable character, Bios for all the characters, and a lot of art. Whoooopee!) No endings for any of the characters either. Poop! TOO SHORT!! (you can beat it in less than a day and ulock everything.)
So in all here goes the rating for the Naruto Games!
Naruto (GBA something something) 3.5 out of 5.
Naruto Clash of Ninja (Gamecube) 4 out of 5.
