Hi! I've been gone a while.. mostly due to lack of interest of the internet and such..
Well, Im back.. to some extent anyway, and I have a review of the neatest device in the known galaxy.
Its the PSP! Yes, Thank God there is finally something out there that isn't geared to the kiddies! I finally had enough to buy the blasted thing ($250!!!) but it was well worth it.... To say Im blown away by the neatness of it is an understatement. Sure I could have had similar technology with a portable DVD player and an I-pod, but this combines them both into one neat little handheld, and it plays nigh ps2 quality games! Best of all, it has a super huge (for a handheld) screen that easily displays the neatness of everything!
Aaagh.. I've been drooling over this thing since I got it.. and since before it came out.. Droooooooooooooool. Really the price is kinda high, but it does come with a bunch of junk (like Spider Man 2, and a demo video disc thing with a slew of Music videos and previews) as well as a pouch, a memory card, headphones, cleaning supplies, a wrist strap, and oh yeah a PSp is thrown in there somewhere too.. So I guess its worth it.
uh... so.. I love psp.. droooooool... I haven't the time to write anymore, it beckons me.. I yearn for it.. goodbye..
4 out of 5. ( Price hurty.. but ooooh.. pretty.. droooooool.)

Oh yes, a wristband totaly validates $250...
Looks cool, yet increadibly expensive... like most of this new junk. Myself, i like to be too cheap to buy this kinda stuff, i call it being 'retro'... yeah, my SNES is SOOOO awsome!
Meh, ill ponder about buying one when the price drops and it comes with a couple of free games... someday. or ill get it for $15 in 10 years at a garage sale.

Hm, I'll probably wait for it to drop in price as well (Same for the DS as well). I haven't really been too interested in either the PSP or DS though. I really don't have a need to watch movies on the PSP cause I have a dvd player anyway, and usually if I want to listen to music, I do that on the computer.

I like sarcasam..
I really thought it was obvious that tissues for your PSP and a wrist strap justified a $250 price.
and yeah I can watch movies at home and listen to music at home. But its neat that I have a portable device that lets me do both when on a long boring trip. (I just wish I had it several weeks ago when I went to Alamagordo.)
I dunno. Having a portable Playstation and one that can do all the extra stuff just seems neat to me. Sides that, it beats the hell out of Nintendo's super gimmick machine.

Im glad you do! I consider them both 'gimmick machines'... hell, i consider any gaming console unworthy of my cash till its got a few solid games under its belt. And by solid I mean must have. Also, dead pixels? Whats up with that?

I suppose it depends on what you define as 'must have'
If you're talking new game that isn't something from an existing franchise, then I suppose you have to wait a bit.
Otherwise, there are a good number of fun games out there already. I love the Twisted Metal game, I've played Ridge Racer, and it was pretty good. People say Lumines is the most addictive game ever. Wipeout is getting great reviews as well.
and if you think all the games are rehashed, In a sense you are correct, but really they aren't so much most of the games are new or mostly new with a few levels re-used (like Twisted Metal.) Others are ports of PS2 games, which isn't that bad if you ask me, cause I think it'd be a blast to be able to play PS2 games on the go, given if I just sit at my house with the PSp, there's not much point in playing Devil may Cry for it when I can just pop it in the PS2. But when Im bored as hell on a long road trip, and wanting to play DMC, then I can, and it will be great.
anyway... I suppose you have to check it out to like it as much as I do.. Just ask Scott.

I take that back on waiting, I got one a few weeks ago. Only two games I picked up for it (Twisted Metal and Untold Legends). Though I got mine a bit too late, so no free Spider-Man 2 for me.
Most likely I will use it more for games and probably as a mp3 player more than anything. I'll probably get one of the 512 sticks, but I'll wait a bit on getting another one later due to the cost of them (At Gamestop the 512 was $90, $60 for the 256 and $30 for the 128).

I think the memory sticks are where Sony get the cash on thier PSP investment.. gah..
Well since Twisted metal, my PSP (like my DS) gathers dust while I wait around for something to come along.. I am contemplating picking up Darkstalkers, but really its low on the list at the moment (plus Im waiting for a price drop..) $40 for a rehash fighter is a bit much for me.
We just got the connecty cord (brain sleepy so I cant remember what they are called... USB maybe) at work so Im thinking of getting one of those so I can put movies and the like on there.. although I need one of those giant expensive memory sticks so I can do better stuff with it... ack. bye money...

Weee... PSP is now on firmware version 2.00. I really want to know why people was wanting it so much anyway. I don't think the PSP is really made for it, plus I don't think soem sites will work for it yet (Supports Java script and not Java, and I think some CGI is supported too, I'm not sure). Maybe another update will change it when they do it (though most likely a ways off). I only updated cause I already got the 1.52 update so too late on the emulation. Oh well? Still have the 32 mb stick with it, the others are still too expensive (I can get computer RAM much cheaper anyway and I use the computer more). Also still have the two games I first got, plus Kill Bill 1. Maybe I'll get more after I get a notebook computer. In a way, I kind of wish I waited on this (big surprise there ). Also, I heard that the later PSP games may require the 2.00 update anyway (not sure if the update will be included with the games or not).
