Tales of Symphonia is one of my favorite games. Story, characters, gameplay; one big package deal. Well, I've been playing it co-op with my friend, and we got to talking about how utterly amazing a ToS OVA would be. That conversation was two days ago. Well, today, I came across a trailer for A FREAKING OVA OF ToS! Dreams do come true-well, they will June 8! Check it out on Youtube! Are you serious?! I would sooooooo watch that, I loved the game so much, and was sad that there was almost no animated cutscenes besides the one at the end of the game. I can't wait. Especially not after watching both trailers. >.>

That's great. I loved ToS, and wouldn't mind having an anime about it. I wonder though, is an OVA a movie or a series?

OAV is usually a movie. Usually it's somewhere between 20 to 30 minutes in length, but that varies (the Kenshin OAVs were broken into multiple parts, all running the length of a full episode or longer). Looks like this one will be broken into four parts/episodes.
I've never played ToS so I can't really comment on the actual series. It looks interesting though.

Wikipedia actually says it's a 4-episode OVA, and btw Iyou, OVA means Original Video Animation, and usually means direct-to-video, or so the FAQ in my RightStuf catalog says.

Yeah. It can also be written OAV which is "Original Animated Video" (I believe) but basically it's the same thing.

So yeah, after not posting here in forever and a day, I can say that I have seen the first 2 episodes of this subbed, and I can't wait for the 3rd one. I see there are a lot of changes, but it is also keeping in-line with the game in some parts.
